We've heard from 20 states so far...and a copy of the DVD has also recently gone to Australia! Here is some of the latest correspondence...
"I am the chair of the mid-Missouri LGBT Coalition, a small grassroots nonprofit dedicated toward educating our local community about LGBT issues. We are particularly wanting to reach out to church goers. We have a faith-based outreach committee that is giving presentations in local churches on the issue of homosexuality and provides resources to local pastors on the subject. We are ordering your film and also hope to screen it on our local public access cable channel."
"Jim and I watched the video again the other night, and were bowled over by how well done it is and how sensitive. It is a great gift to have these people tell their stories. And to have it so beautifully documented!"
"It will be used by the Charlotte Friends Meeting. We have several members who are gay, and we revisit the topic of gay marriage every few years. We also had an issue with giving funds to an organization that helps high school students who are wrestling with issues related to their sexual identity. This video will be used to help our members consider these important issues."
"I will be facilitating a showing of this film at Park Road Baptist -- they are using this film to begin the conversation about more intentional outreach and inclusion in their congregation. They learned of this film at the showing at the Community Center! It has also been shown to the Social Justice Committee at St. Peter’s Catholic and they may provide a showing for other groups in that church. Lots of good news from my perspective. We have a small but growing movement. The Spirit is at work; can’t stop that stuff! Thanks for all you’ve done to help facilitate that process!"
"I received my copy of “Coming Out-Coming In” today. Jason, my spouse and I (who is also a minister) sat down and watched it tonight after we got home from our PFLAG meeting. This was truly a moving and sometimes emotional film to watch. We hope to add this to the agenda for a future PFLAG program here in Abilene, TX. Thank you for making this film. I hope that this is not the only film that you make. I hope that you produce more volumes with other scenarios, such as parents being reconciled with a GLBT child, embracing the bisexual community and transgender community, etc."
